The story behind Football Tactics Board
"Football Tactics Board started with a simple moment: a father and his 8-year-old son, sitting together after a match, trying to talk through where the players should have been, how the pass should have moved, why that run created space.
We grabbed a piece of paper. It wasn't enough. We tried a few apps. Most were complicated, cluttered, or locked behind sign-up walls. What we really needed was simpler: a clean pitch, some players we could move around, and arrows to draw so we could say 'look, if you move here, this opens up.'
So I built one."

Football Tactics Board is a free, browser-based tool for creating and sharing football tactics. Pick a formation, drag players into position, draw passes and runs, and share what you've built. All without signing up or installing anything.
It's designed for grassroots coaches, youth team managers, parents helping out at the club, PE teachers, and anyone who wants to explain a football idea clearly and quickly.
One person, one goal
FTB is a one-person project. No team, no investors, no corporate roadmap. Just a dad who coaches his kid's team and thinks a good tactics tool shouldn't need a subscription, a tutorial, or an IT department.
Every feature in here exists because someone actually needed it. When I'm deciding what to build next, I ask one thing: does this make it easier to explain a football idea?
I keep working on it. The priorities haven't changed: simple, useful, easy to pick up.
